Vernellia R. Randall, J. D., The University of Tulsa College of Law, 2006-07 Distinguished Scholar in Residence, January 24-26, 2007, Allan Chapman Activity Center, Great Hall, 7:00pm.

Vernellia Randall

A professor at the University of Dayton School of Law since 1990, Vernellia Randall writes extensively on and speaks internationally about race, women, and healthcare. She is the recipient of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health Chairman’s Award and was named one of the “Top 10 Most Influential African-Americans” on the 2001 Black Equal Opportunity Employment Journal list. Prior to obtaining her juris doctorate, Professor Randall was involved in public health work for 15 years, focusing on eliminating disparities in healthcare for minorities and the poor. Professor Randall’s recently published book, Dying While Black, takes “an indepth look at a crisis in the American healthcare system” and “offers a concrete proposal for what we can do now to make a difference.”
