Beginning in 2005, the TU NALSA chapter and TU’s Native American Law Center has co-sponsored an annual Native Justice Powwow. The focus of these powwows is to honor Native American attorneys, judges, court personnel, and law enforcement officers. The honorees will include a head singer, master of ceremonies, head gourd dancer, head man dancer, head lady dancer, and arena director. We will follow the same tradition of selecting honorees who work in the legal profession. The Powwow will follow the traditional format of gourd dancing in the afternoon and war dancing in the evening.
