Kendall Whittier Trial & Tour
Friday, March 5, Phi Delta Phi presented Babe E. Bear v. Gold E. Locks
to the Kendall Whittier 5th Graders. Gold E. Locks had been accused
of bad manners, and it was up to a jury of 5th graders to determine the evidence
and decide whether Gold E. Locks was, indeed, guilty of "bad manners."
After a well presented case by both sides, Gold E. Locks was
found guilty of bad manners. Sentencing will be at a later date.
Students were divided into two groups. While one group was in the
courtroom, the other toured the Law Library and vice versa. Lunch was
provided and many TU athletes mingled with the 5th graders at lunch,
including Captain Cane. As a special treat, Derrick Bell also spoke to the Kendall Whittier students.
After the Trial, Kendall Whittier students were treated to a tour of
the Mabee Legal Information Center. Pictured below:
