Thanking Our Benefactors
Since 2002, the Boesche Legal Clinic has been housed in a 3,800 square foot, state of the art building as a result of funding provided by the Mervin Bovaird Foundation. Established by Mabel W. Bovaird in 1955 after the death of her husband, Mervin, a principal of the Bovaird Supply Company, the Foundation is a regular supporter of The University of Tulsa as well as the community.
Trustees of the Foundation made a gift to TU for the clinic, named after their friend and colleague, Fenelon Boesche, who was involved with the Bovaird Foundation from its inception and served as its president until his death in 1993.
Additional funding for the clinic was provided by the estate of Jay C. Byers JD '61. Byers's sister, Shirley Laws, commented: "We are enormously proud that Jay arranged through his will to leave a legacy at TU. His assistance will benefit new generations of law students for many years to come."
