2008 Dublin Program Directors

Vicki J. Limas: Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Professor of Law; Director of Study Abroad Programs. Dean Limas received her J.D. from Northwestern University in 1984. Prior to joining the faculty of the College of Law in 1988, she practiced labor and employment law. She teaches employment law, employment discrimination law, mediation and dispute resolution. Her scholarship is in the area of employment issues affecting American Indian tribes and individuals. She has served as dean of students since 1999, and was appointed director of study abroad programs in 2007. She has taught in the Dublin and Geneva summer programs for the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Resident Co-Directors
Bruce Carolan: Program Co-Director of the Dublin Institute in European and International Law and Head of the Department of Legal Studies at the Dublin Institute of Technology. He holds law degrees from the United States and Ireland, and is admitted to practice in California. He clerked for the United States District Court, worked in private practice and in the public sector in the US and Ireland, and has taught law at the University College, Cork, the University College, Dublin, and the University of East London. His specialty is the Law of the European Union and International Trade Law, and he has published scholarly work in Ireland, England and the United States. Professor Carolan has several years experience in directing the Dublin and Geneva summer programs for the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Melissa Tatum: Program Co-Director, Professor of Law and Co-Director Native American Law Center at the University of Tulsa College of Law. Professor Tatum joined the TU faculty in 1995, after clerking for several federal judges. She teaches criminal procedure, conflicts of law, protection of minority and indigenous cultures, the American Indian Law Seminar and the LL.M. Thesis seminar. Professor Tatum writes primarily in the fields of cultural property and tribal court jurisdiction, and has served as a judge on the Southwest Intertribal Court of Appeals. She has taught in the Dublin program twice, and 2008 will be her third stint as Co-Director of the program. An avid fan of celtic music, she knows where all the best traditional music can be found!
