Course Description

Law-5873 Family Law in the World Community: 3 hours

This course in international and comparative family law introduces students to the treaties, statutes, regulations, and common law governing the practice of transnational family law. The second objective is to compare the guiding principles and procedures used to resolve fundamental issues that arise in all family law systems, and to examine the ways in which international conventions have shaped domestic family law in various regions of the world.
