As chair of the OBA Professionalism Committee last year, I encouraged the committee to adopt Tulsa Youth Services (and Youth Services in 41 counties) as the committee community service project and in this capacity the committee members serve as volunteers for the organization.
I also continue to serve Tulsa Youth Services as a volunteer. In this capacity, one of the volunteer services Richard and I provide is assisting with the Tulsa Youth Court, which is a court run by high school students for teenage first offenders. We also helped to develop the training manual for the students, and I paid for the training manual by donating the prize money I received from winning the 2006 National award for Teaching Ethics and Professionalism.
I am also serving as a volunteer to grade 8 briefs for the ABA Law Student Division's 2006-07 National Appellate Advocacy Competition

I am currently on the Board of Directors of two 501(c)(3)organizations. The first one is the Total Source for Hearing-loss and Access or TSHA, Inc. TSHA's mission is to provide comprehensive services to promote independence for those with hearing loss. I've been volunteering with them since 2001, been a member of the Board since 2002, and been a member of the executive committee since 2003. From 2005-2006 I was the President of the Board and am currently the chair of the capital campaign for them. I volunteer 150-200 hours a year for them.
The second one is Conestoga, Inc., whose mission is to foster the creative arts involved in science fiction and fantasy. Conestoga's major project is a literary science fiction convention held each year here in Tulsa. I've been volunteering for them since 2001 and have been Secretary of the Board of Directors since 2004. For six of the years, I was the Programming Chair for the convention, for the years I was Programming Chair, I volunteered about 150-175 hours a year. I have this year taken a much reduced role in the convention itself, although I still hold my Board position. I anticipate volunteering about 30 hours a year for them this year.
I am also a member of the City of Tulsa Pipes and Drums and the German American Society's Blaskapelle. The COTPD group does volunteer performances, as well, such as police department graduations, etc.
From 1999-2006 I served as a Judge on the Southwest Intertribal Court of Appeals, which was all pro bono work (more than 180-230/yr)
Professor Ray Yasser
I regularly consult pro bono in regard to gender equity issues.
