Board Chair of Meals on Wheels and More in Austin. This organization serves more than 2,500 elderly and homebound individuals daily in the Austin area.
Christopher DeCluitt (JD '97):
Named by the governor of Texas as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Brazos River Authority, which is charged with conserving the Brazos River Basin.
Dawn Sturdevant Baum (LLM '05):
Secretary of the Native American Bar Association, DC Chapter. The chapter hosts a lunch program for students in Indian Law working in DC for the summer. They also have a holiday charity fundraiser (giving to the Acoma Pueblo Boys and Girls Club).
She also volunteers at the National Museum of the American Indian.
Jesse Bomer (JD '03):
Director of the TU Law Alumni Association, and am a member of the Board's Student Recruitment Committee.
Jill Brochu (JD '98):
Primarly volunteers is with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She volunteers hundreds of hours with them every year at fundraising activities: bike tours - 1 or 2 day events - with up to 1500 riders at a time, charity walks - either one day walks or 3 day 50 mile walks, charity dinners, golf events and others. She also volunteers her time speaking to newly diagnosed MS patients as the need arises. She is on the planning committee for the 3 Day 50 mile National Multiple Sclerosis Challenge Walk . She acts as support staff for all of these events - which means running rest stops, providing emergency support, running registration, driving support vehicles - whatever they need done.
In addittion, she volunteers with a soup kitchen proving meals at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
Blayre Campbell (JD '05):
On the board of directors of the Williamson County Bar Association and participated in organizing this year’s Holiday Charity Casino which raised money to donate to the Williamson County Crisis center. There are a number of other Board duties such as organizing CLE, bench bar conference, and community service events. We are in the process of planning a Habitat for Humanity day.
She is also involved in the Community Service Committee of the Austin Bar Association, recently participating in "Junior Judges." For this event, local attorneys visit grade schools and give a presentation to 5th graders about how their decisions affect their lives. It emphasized that they have the power to be a judge, make good decisions, and say no to drugs and violence.
The other organization she is involved with is the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin. Her most recent event with HBAA was attending a Hispanic Heritage Luncheon. This luncheon raises money to enable economically disadvantaged Hispanic college students to attend law school.
Hillary Cinocca (JD '98):
She volunteers as the clerk for her church's vestry.
She also volunteers periodically for various events and projects at her son's school. She participates in United Way Day of Caring and other one time volunteer events during her company's United Way campaign.
Adam Charlsen (JD '05):
He and his wife volunteer twice a month at the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. They have done this for over a year and they have found it to be a rewarding experience.
David Chowins (JD '96):
Since its inception in October of 2000, Chowins Law Firm has offered its services on a pro bono basis to deserving charities and causes.
Brenda Christie (JD '98):
She volunteers with Tulsa Lawyers for Children and represents a family of 3 young Creek Indian girls. She has represented them for the past 6 years in Juvenile Court. She also volunteers with the Animal Law Committee and the Children and the Law
Committee. The Animal Law Committee held a fund-raiser at the Tulsa County Bar center. "Santa Paws" was a big hit and great for the animal lovers in us all.
She provides community service through her college sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. We have an alumnae chapter here in Tulsa and provide donations and other things to Emergency Infant Services, DVIS, and Children and Family Services.
She works with her church, Grace Lutheran Church, to help with the Kendall-Whittier Outreach program; the church provides books, clothing, donations to students, and the Meals-On-Wheels program. Anne Darnell (JD '97):
Serves as Vice President of the Creek County Bar Association for 2007.
She was the Chair of Mayfest from 2004 - 2006. She is the Souvenir Chair for Mayfest 2007. She also chaired a fundraiser for the Junior League of Tulsa called Blooming Deals and was appointed to be the Financial Council Vice President for the Junior League of Tulsa, a Board position.
She was also a Parade Marshall in the PSO Christmas Parade of Lights. Heather Earnhart (JD '02):
Volunteers with Tulsa Lawyer's for Children and has 3 active cases in Tulsa county involving children who have been adjudicated deprived.
She also has 2 other similar cases, in Creek County, which are court appointed. She does not ever request court funds and takes these cases pro bono. Amanda M. Folsom (JD '01):
Serves as a volunteer and on the Board of Directors for a local non profit early education center for deaf and hard of hearing children: Happy Hands.
She participated as a volunteer for the collaborative effort between Make a Wish Foundation and Something mAAgic by decorating the gate and participating in the gate party for a Make a Wish flight that originated from Tulsa.
She alsovolunteered to help the SE Tulsa Jaycees distribute holiday food baskets to needy families. Gina Gardner (JD '97):
Served as President of the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Tulsa. She volunteered over 100 hours a month in this position in the past year. Scott Goode (Dec. '05):
Is on a Constitutional Committee for the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma. We are drafting a new Constitution in an attempt to get away from the fill-in-the-blank IRA Constitutions that most Tribes enacted in the 50's and 60's.

Is a founding board member of Ginger’s Tomorrow: The Ginger Launey DeSalvo Foundation for Lupus Research.
She is active, at the national level, in the Alliance for Lupus Research. I have met with congressmen and women to lobby for Department of Defense founding of lupus research as well as headed up my law firm’s team for the Alliance for Lupus Research’s Walk With Us to Cure Lupus.
She has participated in several builds for Habitat for Humanity around the region, including Habitat’s Musicians’ Village in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. She and her husband organize her law firm’s Habitat for Humanity project in Northwest Houston. Sheree Hukill (JD '97):
For the past two years she has served on the board of a local non-profit, T.K. Wolf, Inc. her contribution to the organization includes research and speaking on issues of stalking, sexual assault, and domestic violence within Indian Country. She has provided presentations for the annual Stalking Conference and had previously provided a presentation for the University of Pennsylvania and published an article from that conference. Jeff Jones (JD '99):
Is on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma District Attorney’s Association.
He volunteers on the Department of Corrections Sex Offender Containment Team, he gives about one presentation per month in the evenings to some civic group in Osage County about protecting yourself or your children from sex offenders. If some group (Lions Club, Ministerial Alliance, Rotary Club, etc.) calls wanting a speaker, he usually will speak to that group, resulting in 2-3 times per year.
He speaks to the Osage Tribal Congressional committees about laws that can be enacted to improve the tribe's law enforcement in Indian Country. Mandy Jones (JD '04):
Volunteers with the Fort Bend County Bar Association by participating in the Will-A-Thon, drafting wills for financially-disadvantaged elderly.
She also accepts a social security/disability cases through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers program. James Journeycake (JD '05):
Completed about 13 hours of pro bono work for Legal Aid as a volunteer attorney mostly handling guardianships. HE had a hearing set in January for a Legal Aid referral client. Marvin Lizama (JD '06):

He spent considerable hours as a Shriner raising money for their network of 22 Shriner Hospitals for Children.
He spends time supporting the bike-a-thon for the M.S. Society and participates in the walk-a-thon for the 32° Learning Center for Children with dyslexia - both as a Scottish Rite Freemason. Shannon Ragsdale Muret (JD '99):
Is a member of Tulsa County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Committee, which does a call in legal question TV program every quarter, and TCBA's Children and the Law committee.
She also volunteers with Casa in Rogers County and helps to distribute clothing to kids.
She is the President of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority House Corporation board of the OSU chapter, which manages a non-profit of about $2 million a year. They do everything form housing contracts to ADA implementation to scholarships for girls and budgeting issues. She has been the president for 2 years, and was a board member before that for about 2 years.
She is also a member of the Tulsa Alumnae of Gamma Phi Beta which does various philanthropic works, such as raising money for Camp Fire, funding scholarships for inner-city kids to go to camp, co-sponsoring Incredible Kid Day and providing gifts for Toys for Tots.
She volunteers with Tulsa Area Alumnae Pan-Hellenic which raises money for eyeglasses for Tulsa Children and scholarships for college junior women and women starting over after a difficult life event.
She helped with the Tulsa Juvenile Diabetes Run this past spring. Corrine O’day-Hanan (JD '03):
Handled a very high profile criminal case pro bono.
She handled two divorce/child custody cases as pro bono, and the two of them together represented about $40,000 in free legal services.
She took care of a legal problem for a mentally ill patient in Sand Springs pro bono. In addtiition, she ishandling a case pro bono for a mentally ill patient who left the scene of an accident. Currently, she is handling a criminal case pro bono for a man who has paranoid schizophrenia.
For one of her pro bono clients she is working out details of post-conviction relief.
She also does juvenile court-appointed cases, representing children in deprived cases and does the work pro bono.
She estimates that she has spent about 420 to 450 hours this year on pro bono service.
For the past 2 years she has been the Trial Site Coordinator for the High School Mock Trial Competition regional semi-finals, in Muskogee. This past Christmas her office collected money and presents for families in the domestic violence shelter. Joy Palazzo (JD '03):

Worked on a pro bono case with the Tulsa office of Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma. A local TV station contacted Legal Aid seeking help for a family whose home had been ruined by the neglect of a moving company. The case turned into a community project. Volunteers helped with some of the repair and cleanup. Sherry Walkabout ( JD '06):
Volunteers for Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, in charge of the Broken Arrow Legal Clinic. They offer a food pantry and limited medical help and on the First and Third Mondays of the month, they offer legal help. Elizabeth Zieders (JD '06):
